In the beginning...

In late 2020, while navigating the pandemic in Taipei, Matt brought together a group of passionate young innovators to help university researchers commercialize groundbreaking ideas aimed at combating COVID-19.

Early win

Our efforts quickly gained recognition and secured funding from the Taiwanese government.

team "BlockSmith" was born

With government funding, the team operated under the name "BlockSmith" (the predecessor of LexNovia Venture Studio) to conduct market validation work for the nanoparticle-based COVID diagnostic called NanoParma from Prof. Yang's lab at National Sun Yat-sen University.

In Sept 2021, we took on the challenge of charting a commercialiation strategy for Oomii's groundbreaking direct retina projection AR/VR display technology.

LexNovia Venture Studio officially launched in Taipei

In Spring, 2022, four of us (Matt and his venture building team Chris, Angela and Winnie) decided to take the startup plunge ourselves and officially launched LexNovia Venture Studio as a startup studio to carry out the mission of helping innovators to turn IP into market-ready ventures.

Successfully licensed our first IP venture CTPrimes to Philips

After one year of hardwork, our first IP commercialization project, CTPrimes with a portfolio of CT image analysis patents was successfully licensed to Philips.

Our advisee Dr. Paul Lee's lab won National Innovation Award and the Edison Award

Our collaborator and advisee, Dr. Paul Lee, won the prestigious Edison Awward for his work in AR/VR assisted medical education.

Studio collaborated with AIT on SelectUSA

Began collaborating with AIT on the SelectUSA event to help Taiwanese companies to come to the US.

Signed MOU with Dah-Ye University to collaborate on N9 Spaces

We pitched the N9 Spaces concept to Da-Yeh University and received a warm reception. The initial discussion led to an MOU to partner together to develop and offer new solutions to the digital nomads.

Started the N9 Spaces project and coined the new Chinese term "諾碼客" for Digital Nomads

Matt was invited to the 2023 International Green Party Sustainability Forum, where he introduced the N9 Spaces project and coined the new Chinese term "諾碼客" for "Digital Nomads".

Co-Founded LiBeyond Energy, a project supported by ARPA-e

Together with Prof. Yao, and Dr. Liang, Matt co-founded LiBeyond Energy, Inc. to commercialize next gen non-lithium batteries, a project sponsored by ARPA-E grant (photo at ARPA-E Summit 2024).
